Who's Doing What

Oh where should I start, there are so many things to
say about our horses in the pictures!  I’ll start with
Cherokee Princess.

We bought Cherokee Princess as an un-handled  2
year old from the Blazing Saddles Ranch.  Mustang
Mac (Mac McSwain), taught our 11 year old
daughter, Kelly,  how to start her.  We do a lot of
trail riding and had our horses along the Brazos
River for a long time before we bought our own
heavily wooded and unproved acreage, which we
named Mustang Meadows.  My husband, Greg, is
very visionary, and turned the raw land into a
beautiful place for our horses.

Kelly competed for several years on Cherokee
Princess in NATRC long distance riding competition,
first in Novice Junior, then Open Junior, then Open
Lightweight.  She is a two time National Champion
and was third in the nation her last full year of
competition.  Kelly went to college and rode her off
and on in competitions for the next few years while
in school, and always placed high and gave the
regulars fits!  I have been riding her this season as
a safety rider horse in NATRC CTR’s.  She is a joy
to ride.  We have one coming 4 year old colt from
her.  He is making a really nice riding horse too.
Cherokee’s sire is Choctaw Traveler and her dam is
Cache Creek Princess.
Rambler, a palomino (technically a gold
champagne) , belongs to our daughter, Jenna
Galliher.  Rambler was the Region 4 NATRC
Grand Champion Open horse, a National
Champion, and he finished 3rd in the nation
NATRC Open competition.

We bought him as an 8 year old from the
Cherokee Trails Ranch, and originally from the
Blazing Saddles Ranch.  He had been started
but was still pretty green and spooky.  When
Jenna took him over when she was 10,  she
started riding him exclusively and turned him
into a true partner.  They hit the NATRC trail
together, first in Novice Jr., then Open Junior,
then Open Lightweight.  Rambler was the
grand Champion in our Region finished 3rd
overall in the Nation in Open.

Rambler's sire is Tambourine Man and his dam
is Ribble.
Kiva is Teresa Galliher's little Gray mare.

The coming 6 year old Is on loan to Layne
Lampley. Their plans are to compete in Open
Jr. for the next year.
The pair each placed first in Open Junior
competition at one of their recent rides.

Teresa Galliher rode Kiva to Novice Horse of
the Year in 2007 and also rode her Safety all
last season.

This great little mare is by Sabine, a son of the
legendary, Chato! Her dam is September Morn.

The coming 6 year old competed in Novice
Heavyweight last year. He will be coming back this
year, as well.  As a matter of fact, he won Novice
Sweepstakes at the Oklahoma Land Run Competitive
Trail Ride, at Lake Carl Blackwell, last weekend.

He is a beautiful amber champagne stallion. He has
excellent manners & has produced several foals and
another couple are due this spring.  His sire is
Tambourine Man and his dam is Tortuga Moon.
